Summary
Our research is focused on the role of epigenetic gene-expression in the central nervous system. We aim to decipher transcriptional networks in order to understand the mechanisms that underlie brain function in health and diseases. Our specific focus are neuropsychiatric diseases such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. To this end, we combine molecular and behavioral work in mice with the analysis of human tissue and body fluids using cutting edge molecular tools including next-generation sequencing and computational modeling.
