The EUROLIFE Distinguished Lecture Series offers excellent scientists the opportunity to present current research findings to an international scientific audience in the context of semi-annual EUROLIFE meetings. In addition to fostering active dialog between the lecturers, researchers and students, the Distinguished Lectures serve to thematically position the EUROLIFE institutions in the international research environment.

Marit van der Pol – Second year Masters’ student Biomedical Sciences at LUMC- shares her experience of visiting a research laboratory at University of Strasbourg. The “Antimicrobial drug resistance – Research and Innovation” Eurolife Summer School will be held in Barcelona (School of Medicine – University of Barcelona) from 10th-14th July 2017. This 5-days International Summer School is focused on the current challenges of antimicrobial resistance including: molecular bases of antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, strategies to control the emergence and spread of multidrug resistant bacteria in different settings, design of new rapid diagnostic tools, research for the development of new drugs, novel therapeutic and diagnostic strategies as well as interventions to tackle antimicrobial resistance.
