ESSCE – Edinburgh Summer School in Clinical Education (the University of Edinburgh)
The Edinburgh Summer School in Clinical Education (ESSCE) is a week of interactive, practical and theoretical sessions in the field of clinical education. This course is for qualified clinicians and clinical educators looking to improve their educational knowledge and skills. Registration for the Summer School is now open. The Early Bird Fee until 31st of May 2018 is £750. The Full Fee after 31st of May 2018 is £800.
The University of Edinburgh offers an intensive week of training in the field of clinical education. The event is packed with workshops to develop your skills around teaching, learning and assessment, and enough theory to give you the tools and the confidence to lead change, evaluate developments and ensure excellence in your future practice. The Summer School will take place from Monday 13 August to Friday 17 August 2018 and the registration is now open. Neuromuscular Translational Summer School (Leiden University Medical Center and Newcastle University)
The EURO – NMD / TREAT – NMD Translational Summer School is a five day event organised by Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and Newcastle University. This comprehensive course will serve as a superb foundation for those wanting to direct their medical or research career in the direction of neuromuscular diseases. It is addressed at MD/PhD students and Postdoc researchers working in the neuromuscular field. The school offers an interesting programme in a form of lectures by experts, break-out sessions and workshops. The Summer School will start on 02 July 2018 and will be held at the Institute of Genetic Medicine at the University of Nerwcastle upon Tyne. The participation fee is 400-500 EUR.

Leiden Oxford Transplantation Summer School (LOTS) (Leiden University Medical Center and the University of Oxford)
LOTS is a collaboration between the universities of Leiden and Oxford. This is a 3 and a half day Summer School starting on 8 July 2018, and will be held in Leiden. The Summer School is organised primarily for biomedical and medical students, who are in the beginning of their studies and are interested in transplantation and (clinical) research. The event is primarily open for bachelor (bio)medical students, but master students are also welcome to apply. The school offers interactive lectures, patient interviews and small group assisgnments in the field of transplantation. The application deadline for the Summer School is 31 March 2018 and the participation fee is EUR 75.

ESSETS – European Summer School of Emergency and Trauma Surgery (Leiden University Medical Center, University of Edinburgh, Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Semmelweis University Budapest and Universität Innsbruck)
ESSETS is a four day Summer School jointly organised by Leiden University, University of Edinburgh, Karolinska Institutet Stockholm, Semmelweis University Budapest and Universität Innsbruck. The course will cover three main themes in trauma surgery: Pre-hospital Care, Visceral Trauma and Orthopedic Trauma. Participants and faculty will discuss and discover the current progression of scientific research within the field of trauma surgery. Lectures on fundamentals, recent trials and scientific research as well as workshops in ATLS, joint fixation and other surgical skills form the core of this course. MSc (4th year or up) and PhD students, as well as staff and residents in the fields of Medicine or Biomedical Science are encouraged to apply. The application deadline for the Summer School is 19 July 2018 and the participation fee is EUR 125.

International Summer School, Clinical & Translational Neuroscience (University Medical Center in Göttingen)
International Summer School, Clinical & Translational Neuroscience is a week long Summer School organised by the University Medical Center in Göttingen, supported by the U4 University Network. During the intensive week of 27 to 31 August 2018 the summer school will cover diverse neuroscientific topics with presentations from international experts and keynote speakers. The application deadline for the Summer School is 15 May 2018 and the participation fee is 250 EUR.

Vaccinology Summer School 2018 (Leiden University Medical Center)
Vaccinology Summer School is a a 5-day joint Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and University of Oxford Summer School in Leiden (September 3-7, 2018). This course builds on the successful University of Oxford Vaccinology Training program. Lectures will be given by world leaders and experts in vaccinology and will span all aspects of vaccine development from antigen discovery, preclinical testing, GMP manufacture and clinical evaluation as well as ethical and regulatory considerations.
Course modules cover Microbial Vaccines, Cancer Vaccines, Clinical Development, Adjuvants and Manufacture.
The course welcomes applicants based in Universities, Research Institutes and in Industry, and PhD/Master’s students nearing the completion of their studies are particularly encouraged to apply.
