Leiden Summer School in Regenerative Medicine
The Summer School runs from October 17-22, 2021, physically in Leiden, if permitted with respect to COVID-19. The School offers places for 25 highly motivated MSc and PhD students.
Through participating, students will gain current insights of basic developmental biology (including early development, pluripotent stem cell and iPSC biology, organ specification and development), illustrating how these can be used to develop regenerative therapies. The course will highlight three organ systems that are the focus of research at the LUMC: cardiovascular and muscle, the nervous system, and kidney.
During this 5-day program, students will gain a deep understanding of basic human development and how this is directly linked to the development of new regenerative therapies. The molecular, cellular, mechanical, biochemical, physical, structural processes that underlie the formation of specific cell types are often also reflected in disease development and progression.
- Dates of Event: 17th – 22nd October 2021, full-time
